Mountain Rain

Last week it decided to rain. I think we got a whole 3/4", but I enjoyed every single drop, even to the point of standing out in it willing it to rain hard enough to mess up my hair (which doesn't take much). After about four months without any rain - not a drop - even a brief reprieve from the drought felt like a blessing straight from heaven.
I took these photos about two and a half hours south of my home in far west Texas. Where I live, the landscape is monotonously flat, but a two-hour drive down to the Big Bend reveals startling plateaus and then true mountains, some as high as 7,000 feet.
In case you were wondering, these pics were taken just outside of Alpine, TX.
I know I'm not a photographer, but isn't that a great view???
